Lisa R. Young’s article “7 Habits for a Long, Healthy Life”
… appeared in my 9-14-21 yahoo news feed.

— Get to know yourself.
— Keep healthy food at arm’s reach.
— Eat a colorful salad every day.
— Find movement that feels good.
— Cook some of your meals at home.
— Pay attention to your portions.
— Be positive.
… I FEEL LIKE A STAR WARS JEDI JET PILOT ON QUEST FOR ADVENTURE AS MY TRIKE FITS MY BODY SHAPE AND RIDING PURPOSE.
… I absolutely enjoy riding it. After over 30K miles in the past 6 years, I still get off of it with an insight as to why it is that I like riding it so much.
… I CRAVE THIS FEELING AND THE CHILDHOOD-LIKE EMOTIONS THAT ARE REKINDLED WITH EACH RIDE.
… At last weekend’s Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana Adaptive Cycling Event which my riding friends were allowed to have a booth to introduce physical challenged individuals to the feel of riding a trike, I got to see more “trike grins” than I’ve seen in years. It’s a priceless to be able to see what someone over 18 years old looked like when they were 7 years old, as their child inside has a chance to “beam out” with pleasure.
… I PRIORITIZE THIS RELIC OF EMOTIONAL PLEASURE SO MUCH THAT IT HAS ME GIVING MUCH MORE ATTENTION TO HOW WHAT I EAT OF DRINK AFFECTS MY TIME RIDING.
… I can tell how eating any “empty carbs” eventually hits my willingness to pedal. I hate it. White flour, any soda drinks, cookies, cakes/pies (except black raspberry cobbler from the Park restaurant in New Castle) is not worth the few seconds of taste pleasure I might get in eating it. I can tell how eating fruit carbs can give me that boost of clean drive with no drop in drive. I love it. My health statistics love it. Like Lisa Young says, you get to “know yourself”. You can see how the “eddy” effect can touch every aspect of your life and want you to be “better”. Your child inside that emits that “trike grin” is shouting to get off the “couch of lethargy” and live the best life you can.
… IT’S 12:21PM, I’M IN STARBUCKS AND HAVE TYPED MYSELF INTO THE URGE TO GO RIDING ON THE NEARBY B&O RAILTRAIL.
… Dan Zimmerman, founder of SPOKES FIGHTING STROKES (.org) will be camping at the State Fairgrounds on the Monon Trail from 9-17 thru 9-30 with his crew and a dozen trikes for any physically challenged individuals to test ride while receiving his A-1 experientially backed insights about how adaptive cycling can add great strength to their life fiber.
